A friendly, talented and ambitious group of young women have created history as the foundation residents of Durack College. Welcomed to their new home away from home, the excited students unpacked their boxes and settled in before enjoying a welcome lunch with family and friends.
Senior Residential Assistant and St Margaret’s Old Girl Harriette Watson said she was incredibly humbled and honoured to be the first in a student leadership role and aims to create a vibrant living and learning environment.
College Director Dr Kylie Armstrong was delighted to finally welcome the new residents into our safe and caring community.
“The residents were anxious, yet eager to start their college and university journey, and we certainly feel confident that our friendly, comfortable and stimulating environment will provide the solid foundation they need as they transition from school to university. Our living and learning community will be a place where life-long friendships are forged, intellectual discussions shared and each resident given the support and opportunity to realise their full potential,” said Dr Armstrong.
College residents and family enjoyed a gourmet two-course meal together before starting their orientation activities.
